Together with the Recicleta association, we have managed, in just 7 months, to save 7 trees from cutting, collect 500 kg of paper for recycling and support two jobs.
Since May 2016, after the launch of the in-house selective waste collection project, we have managed to have a positive impact on the environment by:
• Collecting 500 kg of paper, which we have recycled
• Saving 7 trees from cutting – one ton of recycled paper saves 15 fully grown trees from cutting
• Supporting 2 jobs for those who pick up, on cargo-tricycles, the paper collected by companies at their offices
We are also proud to say that we will breathe cleaner air because, due to our selective collection action:
• approximately 250 kg of CO2 will be absorbed in 50 years by the trees saved from cutting
• we supported transport by cargo-tricycles, which means over 2000 kg of CO2 were not emitted by the cargo-tricycles used in the program
• approximately 454 kg of CO2 were not emitted due to the recyclable materials deviated from the landfill and redirected toward recycling
The selective collection project will also continue in 2017, when we intend to double the amount of recycled paper.
